We're alive!
Yes, it's been busier than normal, because we've added another project in our lives that is taking up our evenings. Literally, this is the first time I think I've got on blogs in quite a while. I think I started going down my blog list the other day, trying to catch up and it just didn't happen.
Resolutions:
Okay, everyone else has done their "new years resolutions" and I haven't done jack squat. So, here goes. It's a rough idea of some of the things I want to accomplish this year. More times than not, resolutions get broken, so I'm not going to put anything down I don't think I'll accomplish. In no particular order.
* Eat better. I need to for my daughter's sake and for mine. This is more veggies and fruits. No approach that is all or nothing - all in moderation.
* Loose weight. I am fit, but I am not where I want to be. Small goals, though. Nothing drastic or unattainable.
* Exercise more consistently. I will exercise 4-6 days a week for 2 or 3 months, then slack off for a month. This isn't consistent. I want to work out, whether it be running, cycling, swimming, pilates, core, or stretching routine - 5 days a week.
* Drink more water. I used to be a water only drinker. But after I got pregnant, I was turned off by water and I never regained that desire to drink water only. It's cleaner, and I always felt better when having water, not sweet tea with my meals.
* Read my Bible. We, at Church, are diving in deep to the book of Luke and I want to really challenge myself to read more about God.
* Floss more.
* Set a good example for Grace. This is broad, I know. But, changing small things about myself that will better instill in her to be a good, decent, caring, considerate person. Example: Quit calling the high schoolers next to where we live names. I'm convinced they sleep through all driving courses AND their parents don't teach them either to read, or common courtesy - that when a sign says "Do not block entrance", that means "do NOT block entrance". I then call them stupid idiots, in which my 3yr old says "That's right you stupid idiots".
* Always have a goal in all areas to keep me motivated.
In other news:
Since the beginning of the year, I haven't ran ----- Until yesterday! Finally, you say?
I know. I know.
Let's just say our evenings had been super busy and left no time to run.
6 miles - done
We are super excited to go to Phoenix this weekend for the RnR Half Marathon!!! I really don't think I'm ready physically for it, but I'll do it - nonetheless cause I'll be with a bunch of great gals to run this with me. Just 2 more days.
Oh, BTW Lisa and Lori - I'll probably be drunk when I arrive in Phoenix. I hate to fly, so I need something to make me more comfortable.

Lisa and Lori will be drunk by the time you get there ;-) Have a great race and a fun trip!
RE the good example for Grace: I have a younger brother who is 11 years my junior so I was in high school when he was 3, 4, 5, 6 -- all ages where he repeated whatever he heard. Needless to note, he learned some colorful language from me and and my friends, and I frequently got into trouble from my parents about what came out of HIS mouth. They're like parrots when they're young like that.
Looks like good resolutions -- good luck with them. And good luck with the race this weekend, should be fun!
Mendy that last sentence made me LOL! You are too funny! Love the resolutions and we will see you tomorrow night...drunk or sober!
Have a blast this weekend and be safe. Don't drink too much well at least while running...well...nevermind...:) have fun.
LMAO at you showing up drunk!!! I wish I could, but I am afraid that the airports/planes I am coming through are so small there will be no alcohol handy :P I can't wait to see you! Have a safe flight!
Have a great race. I'm serously not ready for my half either (in Feb). But I'm runnin' it anyways :)
Drinks on the plane... let the party begin!!!
you all are going to have the best time!! Enjoy the day, the event, and the entire weekend.
Loved you 2008 goals. Sometimes it helps seeing them right in front of you.
Great goals for the new year. I think about the 'setting good example' thing a lot and try to also. :D Most people have already broken their resolutions, so you aren't too late, your starting at a great time.
Have a blast, I'm so jealous.
Great new year goal. Now if all of you are drunk at the airport, give me a call and I will get all of you to your location safely. Lisa has my cell number. If you want it, send me an email and I will send it to you. Have a safe and uneventful flight. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. If Grace was comming, I would have made sure my 3 year old daughter made it to dinner. They would be best friends before we got to the table. Oh yea, at that age they do not know what a secret is.
I am SOOOO with you on number 1! I NEED more veggies and fruits. I think I'd feel a hell of a lot better too.
I'm super excited!! I'll see you all soon! Starting the par-tay without me, huh? LOL
Uh, you forgot one. Here's a hint: it involves me. ;-)
You're already a great mom and example. Grace will grow up in a great environment and around wholesome friends (shielded from Marcy), and will have respect for the important things. That's our job, now!
Good luck at R-N-R, sister! I hope you have a great time and don't suffer any real hang-overs! I look forward to seeing y'all soon.
