Raining run

I was sitting at my desk yesterday at about 4ish, with no one else here with me. They were all in meetings, etc. We have no windows where we sit so for the majority of the time, we don't know when it's raining, etc, unless it's pouring and you hear it. I just got through checking my email on the shipment of Grace's new "racing" seat (what David calls it). Fedex site said "on front porch". I thought, it's pouring!! Of course, it's in a box, and fedex does sometimes put plastic over them, but what if? So, I got up and left work, got home and when I got the package inside, it stopped raining. So, what to do?

Run.

I haven't run in a long time, and decided to do 2 miles or that's what the Runners' training smart coach called for in a plan to complete a half in mid January, just in case there's one I want to do then. (wink, wink)...

So, I was off. It had stopped raining when I went outside, very humid, but okay weather otherwise. I leave our townhouse and up a hill out of our neighborhood, which btw always kills me, no matter what shape I'm in, so I just about turned around considering I'm in terrible shape right now. Got about .25 into the run, and it started pouring. I had mr. Garmin with me to show me how slow I was running, and I also had my nano. I stopped, put nano under my sleeve, and took off. I enjoy running in the rain, but this wasn't no where near a sprinkle. I just wish I had had my hat on. So, I turned around at a mile, and headed back. At about half a mile from home, it stopped again - what? So, it was like that all evening, raining off and on. So, finished my 2 miles, was s-l-o-w and felt sluggish, shoulders tense, legs hurt, etc, etc. Like it's new to me again! I know, it's my own fault. But, I'm starting again and I know that 2 miles in a few weeks will seem really easy like it has before.

Tuesday:
2 miles - 20:21

Tonight is 60 min spin session with the best and craziest spinning instructor, Jeni. Tomorrow is another run.

Grace loved her new seat so much, she sat in it last night after Church group and watched TV. She'll be upset, I'm sure, when we put it in the SUV tonight.

FINALLY - hump day! Gosh, it's a slow week.

I'm with you, girl! SLOW week! I'm coming off of vacation so that compounds the dread of slow days because I'm stuck in the office playing catch-up! Nice lookin' car, too! Hope to see you guys soon.

Way to get that run done! I think the half is calling your name :) It would be beyond awesome!!!!

My kids are always nuts with their carseats like that, too. Payton could just live in hers if I left it in the house all the time :P

Ooooooo is that that carseat that is made from the same peeps that make (car) racing gear or cars or both or something? I've seen those ads in Parent's mag and wondered how they fared.

I'm in the same boat chica!! Don't sweat it!! We'll work on our progress together ;D

To answer your question . . .No, unfortunately it comes either on or near (I can't remember)the day of Keira's B-day so it's a no go. And even if I was selfish enough (and sometimes I have my moments :-X :-X ) to do it, I'd have to go alone because John has some shiz he has to attend too. So he's uncomfy with me being by myself blah, blah, blah (that REALLY reads: OMG I can't handle the children by myself for a weekend) and while there is nothing more that I like to do than doing stuff my husband tell me not too :P it just seem like too much shiz LMAO!

Ohhhh running in the rain sounds fun. I have only done it twice in my entire 2 whole years of running. Not much rain in these here parts.

Nice run...usually when it rains here we get lightning too...so it makes it a bit scary to try and run at the same time....glad you got it done...

Hope Grace likes her new seat....
