Navy PRT = Done!

Wow! What a busy day that was supposed to be somewhat easy! I was working my tail off this afternoon at the reserve center. It started off with my semi-annua PRT, around 9ish... and it was already hot. No biggie, though. I did this PRT on my own (Well, with the help of my hubby), as we usually do it in a big group of about 100 people. I did my full sit-ups, and push-ups (not girlie kind either - there is none of that in the military). We get 2:00 min to complete each exercise. Goals were: Sit-Ups - 85, Push-Ups - 30, Run 1.5 - 12:15. If I got these stats, I would have an "Excellent" in overall category.

We headed out, hubby, myself, and 3 staff members. We run an out and back on an abondoned freeway, that's in rough shape. If there's any wind, you feel it. Again, no biggie...

I knocked out 94 sit-ups in my 2min allowance, took a 2 min break and pushed out 32 push-ups. I'm really working on my push-ups, as I want to be back up in the 40's where I was when I was a young sailor. Also, 100 is max in the sit-ups, as beyond that - you don't get extra pts. So, since having a C-section, I've been in the 80's for that, and happy to say I hit 94 today! Woohoo...

I took my short break, then David, my personal pacer, and I took off. I had a nice pace going down, and at the turn around I was at 5:50, so my return leg was a little slower. I ended up crossing over at 12:04 (8:02pace). I beat my goal, and am thrilled as I probaly actually have one of the best times in the ladies at the center, and even out of half the guys. I know that next time (Oct), I will be in the 11's. I'm not a fast runner, but am happy with that pace, and glad it's over.

After we returned to the center, David and I went for a ride around Donaldson Center (7.2 miles), then did a .8 mile run. The ride was an easy ride, and David was coaching me about how to hold myself on the bike, and helped with my gears, so we definately weren't hammering it at all. Transition was 1:51, not bad considering all we had to do. We didn't have much time to continue doing our on thing, while we were supposed to be at drill. So, it was quick, and I have officially done my first brick (outside). I will be doing more, and soon will be feeling what David feels in his legs on the run - nothing. He's overcome that heavy leg feeling!

David was so supportive, and paced me for the run, and helped me for with the brick. It was a nice time with him - that we don't do often. He's just so much more advanced than me, which he should be! Thanks a bunch, honey!

Grace is at Grandma's which she LOVES. So, we're having wine with friends tonight at a tapas restaurant. Fun - Fun!! All 3 of us couples have kids the same age, and tonight we all have babysitters!

Here's some cute pics of Grace from last night! She is my mini-"Grits". Check her shirt out. Enjoy your weekend, fellow blogger buddies!

Congratulations on the test! That is awesome!! That Gracie sure is cute. However, since Daddy is such a studly triathlete, I don't have to worry about her being properly, ummmm, protected as she grows up ;-)

Great job! I'm glad you did so well and you got a brick in too. That's impressive.

Hummm, babysitter. We need one of those...but I think we have quite a bit for someone to try and handle. Hope you had a good time.
