Hoo-Yah for fridays!

It's pretty bad when you're excited about a weekend that doesn't have much planned. We have a few things on the list but for the most part, it's going to be a little relaxing.

Yesterday, I did drills in the pool. Nothing too exciting to report other than I am now doing the drill for the 1st 25yds, and swim back the other 25yds. I like this a lot, because 1) your winded from drilling and 2) you can practice your form on the return leg. So, I did 1000yds in total, taking a small break in between each drill. I felt pretty strong on my cooldown.

Tonight - NADA. We have NO plans. I may ride the trainer, but I needed a full rest day so, so far that's what today is. We'll see. I know if I ride the trainer tonight, then I probably won't take a full rest day until next Friday. I'm riding tomorrow and swimming on Sunday.

Tomorrow, we are helping friends from Church move into their new house. They are excited. She is 1 month from delivering, so she better not do a thang. :-) David will be doing the group ride first thing in the AM, so I can do mine with friend from work in the afternoon. Looking forward to that! I don't know the plan or miles yet.

Sunday after Church, we'll quickly get changed and head out to Clemson to join the tri clinic for my first Open water swim. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous. I have a fear of open water, and I guess I need to get over it in order to be ready for the Tri next weekend. I am hoping to get in the 750m swim, since I'm ditching my speed work swim this week. I don't want to overdo the swimming right now, since I'm really enjoying it.

My class is going well. After I pretty much flunked my quiz 2 wks ago (67ish %), I studied hard last week and scored a 100% on the quiz. This week the reading was for 3 chapters and I'm only at the end of the 2nd one. I still have 30 pgs to read by Sunday night to take my quiz. After this week, only 2 more weeks left! :-)

Our free time lately has been looking around at local neighborhoods, trying to find something that we can love now and love in 10/15 yrs. We've had suggestions to find a house to have for about 5 yrs or more, but we are looking at it for longer. It's easy to think "Where do I want to live for the next 5 yrs, or what kind of house to I want for the next 5 yrs". But, it's a bit harder doing what we're doing. We've found several developments we like, but there's always 1 or 2 things that draws us away from it. One lot we REALLY like has a lot of land, and is in a community but, doesn't have a community pool, etc. and I desire to have that for Grace to grow up with. I didn't as a kid (even though we had a pool at our house as a teenager), and that's something we want for her. Location is bad for cycling, and running as well. (VERY important to us). Another lot we found was on the other side of town (away from our lives), and even though we can afford the land, we couldn't afford to pick their builders and build there. So OUT. We found a community the other night out in the sticks of where David rides, and it's GREAT, with nice homes, and good prices on lots but after we timed it, just too long of a drive in compared to our #1 pick. We keep comparing it all to this one piece of land in a developed community that has NO other lots available. It's a FSBO piece of property and it's in PRIME location of everything we do. Close to work, close to the YMCA, close to Church (Our new Church home), and easy to get almost everywhere. It's also got a decent length trail around the community, pool, tennis courts, etc. So, we're trying to get the community covenants and building requirements. We're tossing around the idea because we could choose any builder around here. Wish us luck in this quest! We need it... It's hard to find something we like within our budget. Trust me - our eyes are way bigger than our wallets. Our plan is to sell our place by end of Summer, and move into an apartment until we move on.

Hope everyone out there in blogland has an Awesome weekend and if you're racing - good luck and have fun!!!

Good luck with your open water swim!! You'll do really well!

I found a cottage nine years ago and have slowly over the years turned it into a four season house. I live on a peninsula that is 10K around from my door and back, so I can swim in the summer *not 10K*, bike, and run and feel safe at all times!

Good Luck and enjoy your not so quiet weekend!

Best wishes with your OWS. Let us know how it goes.

House hunting. We've been in our house for almost 17yrs, so it's been a while since I've had to do that. But I remember it being stressful.

Something that worked for us was to buy something with plans to add on later...which we did...but that meant keeping that in mind when we were buying. That might help if your eyes are bigger than your wallet right now.

I sure is important to take your time and find just the right one. Julie and I looked for a couple of years before we found just the house in just the right neighborhood. It's important, because moving sucks...you don't want to do it more than once. Good luck!

I totally agree that it is best to take your time and find the PERFECT house! You think it's not out there and then BOOM one day it's just there. I guess that sometimes there is one or two things that are perfect but make a list of what you won't compromise on. Make sure that whatever you find that it has a spare bedroom where I can come and stay. LOL!!

We just did that, we found place before that we thought was perfect, but in the end, it was just a great house & WAY too far from our lives. We've left the foreclosure proceeding begin on that. . its been on the market for over 2 yrs & the house isn't even 5 yrs ld yet.

Basically we were trying to keep up with the Joneses & I found that I don’t even LIKE the Jones, let alone wanna be like them.

We’re better just being us. :o)

Anyway, great job on the workouts. . . is all that swimming slimming??? :o) I have a water fear & want to try, but if I don't see RESULTS, I'll be pissed I did it all anxious & what not. (I'm pretty good in a pool, but not over 12 feet, I have to be able to touch bottom & push UP--so Lakes/Oceans make me crap my pants! :o)--nice visual, I'm sure.

Let us know about the open swim. . . .and thanks. . .for always being so nice to me. . . .you always make me smile. . .I was kinda yelling~talking loudly~ in my Post.
