Peaceful long Run

Run 9 miles (1:39:54)

This morning temps were in the high 30's/low 40's when I set out at 8:20 for my run, and honestly it was nice. No "blups" (that's what Grace calls gloves) needed. I was perfectly dressed for the weather, no wind, nice temp, very little traffic and a peaceful 9 miles were completed. I struggled a couple of times on the run, not wanting to complete it especially after I passed the entrance to our neighborhood and kept going. I had 8 miles scheduled for today, but since I have drill weekend next weekend and I'll have to run my long run around Donaldson Air Center at dusk, and it's quite hilly, I switched runs. I don't particularly like running over there by myself and into the dusk time either. So, I'll do 8 next weekend, then up to 10 the following weekend. In my training for RnR half, I'll get up to 12 miles and that's it, because this race is all about the fun running it with Lisa, Lori, and Marcy and whomever wants to join! We're gonna have so much fun.

We had a great weekend, with some exceptions to our wild child. She has not been on the best behavior lately especially in restaurants. We had lunch with friends from Church today and thankfully, she was a little better than she was when we had supper with Chris and his wife, Janis, which was a great dinner, even with all the drama from Grace.

Our Church is doing a toy drive for some needy children in the community and some of our small group (+ another one) took 2 hr shifts outside Wal-Mart on Saturday asking for donations of toys. It turned out way better than I thought it would. The amount of generosity I saw was amazing! Speaking of Church, we had an amazing lesson today that I believe anyone can relate to. It was called "Life Explained", and was about finding your purpose for Life and was what I needed to hear today.

That's it folks for now. We're watching "Hot Rod". This is SOOOO David's type of movie. Time to read about ya'll's weekends while rolling my legs.

The Stick! Isn't it the best invention in the whole wide world!

Way to keep with your run and overcoming the temptation to turn home. :)

Yay! I was going to suggest rolling your legs, but I figured Dave-man already had you covered :-) Nice run, chica!

You're so hardcore, you're really going to get up to 12 mi? I think I'm going to max out at 10 (we shall see though LMAO!) I'll be way under trained. I can't wait! We're going to have a fabulous time!

Ugghhh I hear you with the kids and the restaurants. Keira is usually my "good" one and it's always Cam that needs to be yanked out because she's throwing hissy fits/screaming and trying to climb all over furniture. I can't even tell you how many times I've had to leave with her, while John and Keira finish dinner.

Oh man Mendy! You are making me look like even more of a slacker! I am so not ready for this half and may have to take Marcy up on the "barrel roll" idea :P
