Finally

A good run. :-)

Lunch today, I wanted to run. I stepped outside in the cool temps, started out up the hill and leg pain set in rather quickly. The entire first half, I was wondering when it was going to go away. Got to the turn around point and honestly didn't think my leg would allow me to run back. I focused on posture: running tall, chest out, arms low and swinging very little, foot strike small and before I knew it, I was back at the house. It took my mind and thoughts off the pain in my leg. So, although you see above that I consider it a good run, it didn't come without the same nagging pain I get in the leg, but it felt great to be out there. I also didn't set any PR records for my 3 miles. I've learned I have a way to go to get back to where I was, and that's okay.

3.05 miles

I remembered why I like running. Simply - because I can.

On a very sad note, my Uncle's Mother, Betty passed away last night after battling many problems lately and has been in the hospital for several weeks. He was very close to his Mother and lost his Father just a year ago. I'm very saddened to see my family go through the grieving: my Uncle, my Aunt and cousins. They all mean so much to me. I've known Mrs. Betty my entire life, and the first thought that comes to mind when hearing her name, is seeing her smile. She had such a friendly/loving smile and was such a beautiful lady. God Bless her! She's home now with her Husband.

On my run today at lunch, I thought about her. I thought about my family and how I need to show them more how much they mean to me. I'm not one to show my feelings that often. My cousin's wife, Rox is in blog world. So, Rob and Rox, I miss you guys very much and know that I am thinking about all of you through this.

((((HUGS)))) I'm so sorry for your loss :-(

Way to get out there for a run chica!! ;D ;D I'm the same way too. If I have distractions (which lately comes in the form of taking pictures everywhere LMAO!) the nagging annoyance of the "lady" pain doesn't bother me.

I'm so sorry about your family's loss. It is so hard, but the one positive (if that is possible) that comes out of loss is reconnecting and/or being closer as a remaining family. It sounds like Mrs. Betty will be missed and remembered very fondly.

Nice job on the 3 miler. I really have to distract myself to get through my runs usually, too.

I am so glad that your run went well and that you were "feeling" it! :>)

Great job with the run. Sometimes we forget why we run...but we all usually remember and then don't understand why we stopped. Been there...done that.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

High five for the run! I wish I had time to do anything like that during my lunch... oh well.

Betty was a great lady, and raised a fine family. She will be missed, but she is finally reunited with her husband, parents, and siblings. Maybe a new little star will twinkle in her honor.

Good job on the run and renewed dedication. Maybe we should train for a big race coming up...

Glad the run went well -- that's always a great feeling -- but sorry about your loss.

Umm, David's "new little star" comment seems to have a certain loaded meaning...are you two expecting another? Or am I just reading too much into that?

No, Jess. There's no little one in my oven. I have no idea what he's talking about - maybe my cousin, Rob and his wife Rox, are trying for another baby. Rob is Betty's grandson.

Grace is just too wild for me to consider another one right now. But, I AM getting older....

Awww, I really needed to catch up on my reading. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Betty's loss is a tough one. It's bittersweet, you know. We'll see her again someday.

And yezzz, we are trying again. We shall see...

Love you much!
