Weekend update

Howdy Ya'll...
This weekend is going by WAY too fast, isn't it? I've had a fairly decent workout weekend, with some challenges.

David got up on his favorite day of the week yesterday for a brutal ride, and he delivered. After he arrived home, we took off right away to drop me off at the Y. His car is the only one with a bike rack, so far - that is. So, I met a friend from work, whom is doing the Aug triathlon also. We both got in some swim time. She's a whole lot faster than me and does those flip turns, I'd like to do one day. Not yet, still have a lot of technique to work on in the pool for now. My time was very acceptable by me...

500yds - 13:17 (a measly second slower than my 500yd pr) :-)

My sweet little bike was good to me yesterday! David says it looks like a kids bike, well - it probably does next to his. We transitioned and headed out for a ride. It was a hilly one, as are most here in our area, but we had a nice time. I've always rode with David and he tells me what gear to switch and when, and not having him there telling me my every move, well - let's just say I had problems figuring out the gearing. I did even manage to get my chain off the back ring once, and my buddy turned the bike around and fixed it. She even had handy wipes to clean the grease off our hands. I don't know what I would do on a ride by myself! I was happy to be more comfortable on the real roads, even though they were in the country. It was a nice ride, not too fast and we were not really fueled up enough (all I had yesterday morning was 2 pieces of bread and a piece of cheese). After we returned, we tried to run a little, but it was tough, so we headed back to the YMCA.

Ride 19.2 miles

I was happy with the swim and the ride, and we're doing a brick Monday night. We'll ride 14 miles and run a little.

This morning, the alarm went off at 7, and I SOOO didn't want to get up for my run. But, had to. I woke to this sweet pic. They were OUT. I headed out the door for my long run. It was somewhat of a struggle, but glad I completed it. I had to keep my pace slower than what I'm used to in order to complete it, but that's okay.
It didn't go quite as well as Jess's and Tiff's 10 miles did, but I'll be all better by next week! Thanks gals for motivating me! and I'm so glad we are all on the same plan too!!! It's very encouraging!

Run 10 miles - check

Now, I've got to get back to watching this movie with hubby! What a funny show!! Then on to some studying of Econ.

Oh, one more pic to leave ya' with... and what a sweet one.

Have a great remainder of the weekend!!

Cute bike! I don't think its small. Dee Dee has a 46 cm bike. Fits her just fine! I wouldn't worry about doing flip turns either. There are no walls in most triathlons. That's a great pic at the end. Gracie looks so cute. Who's the ugly dude with her? ;-)

ROFLMAO Wes!!! I seriously LOL-ed. Fo real, who is that ugly dude? (kidding!! David is a handsome man :-) ) He sleeps with his watch on? LOL Grace is adorable!! Isn't it crazy how nice and peaceful kids look when they sleep and then once they wake up all hell breaks loose? LOL

Your bike doesn't look small! I don't know though, I never really look at them. I think it's cute! You've done AWESOME with the workouts Mendy!! ;D And you got up at 7?!?! GO YOU!! Did you have to use 2 alarm clocks? LOL

LMAO, I don't think you want to use me for ideas on core. Are you ready for my most innovative ideas ever? . . . . .

Usually just put on whatever core crapola Exercise on Demand has on or I'll pop in some Core Secrets (I think it was Lisa maybe, who gave me link to that DVD awhile back . . . I can't remember) I'm pretty leisurely about it though. I do it, just rather lazily LMAO! *shhhhhhh don't tell anyone LOL*

Hi there,

I am acting on behalf of Sylvester Stein: an 87-year old master athlete still competing. I always enjoy reading your blog, even if you're a fair bit younger than Sylvester, who I usually work with! I was wondering if you'd mind linking back to our blog, "Born on Christmas Day" (http://www.pponline.co.uk/blog). He’s quite new to all this online running community, but would like to feel more involved!

Sylvester also founded the PeakPeformance (pponline.co.uk) website, which has a strong tie with your own fitness and health interests. Do get back to me.

Best,

James
