It's ON

No, not the modem/router problem, but my workouts! Sometimes I hate technology! It sucks... But I work in the field, so can't knock it too much. We got a new modem for the house, however now that David is back online - my wireless connection isn't working. GOT to get it working...

Been a busy couple of days working out! and luckily, it's all been good. Quick boring run-down. :-)

Mon - Bike (gym) 10 miles; Run 1 mile on TM. This went well for me. I usually only do about 7 on the stationary bike, but decided to up it a little. Afterwards, hopped on the treadmill for a mile. Really, that's all I can fit into a lunchtime workout so I can hurry back to my cube world. I don't like taking advantage of the flexibility I am given to do this, so I hurry back, and eat at my desk. I'm fortunate to be able to do it in the first place.

Tues - Run 3 miles
Was just a long, bad day. I didn't do any workout at all during lunch, except laying down on the couch watching wk old soap operas. That's all I wanted to do, and it continued when I got home that afternoon. Well into the evening with no food in my tummy, and a beer in my hand - I finished the last sip, threw the bottle away, and changed clothes. At 8:30, I was out the door for my 3 mile run. Guess guilt sunk in about not doing it - and I did it, in the dark, and even had negative splits. NICE!

Wed - Run 6 miles; Swim 500yds (12:23)
I had to get my run in yesterday morning, because I was working at the Drive game last night. What a good 6AM run I had. It wasn't my fastest, but it sure felt good. I'm happy with it, with the exception of some minor chafing in between my legs. I know - I know - bodyglide. It was sitting safely inside the house. I could really tell later in the evening, when my shorts were rubbing it worse. I went to the pool at lunch, and did 500yds. I noticed that I just kept going and going and before I knew it, I was done with my 10 laps. Difference is - I DIDN'T REST at all. I've always taken a rest, but I was ON totally!!!! and knocked some time off my PR (was 13:16). Horrayyyy.... It boosted my self confidence in my swimming, so I feel more ready for the swim portion of the tri. Now, just gotta work on the bike - which brings me to ...

The bike! Tonight is the cycling portion of the tri clinic. Although, I'm nervous, I'm a little excited too. I've never done a group ride so this will be interesting. I think Hubby is joining (well, he has to help me with my gears :-)

Killer on the PR for swimming too!!! ;D ;D Do you think the swim part of the tri is going to be the hardest for you? Usually everyone has one part they dislike, so I'm just wondering what yours is hehe.

That swim PR is awesome and to finish all 10 laps without a break/rest has got to put your confidence through the roof! You had some awesome workouts this week!

It's amazing to see the extremely rapid rate your swimming is improving. Anyone would be jealous. I'm sure you'll do the same on the bike...some day. :-D

Great job, and get the runs in when you can. You CAN do a marathon, but it's up to you to want it.
