So, I've been kinda down lately - "blame it on the rain" (literally), or the fact I haven't ran in a few days (that will suffice today), PMS (I'll leave it at that), my fat arse, the heat or just not feeling good. I think it's a multitude of them all. I was supposed to do my Long run this past weekend, and I put it off til Sunday night, which when I do that - it never happens. I loose the desire. I also blew off a 5K, but it was just a 5K and I had a better time anyways. BTW, thanks for not giving us too much crap about it - if you had, it still wouldn't have mattered. LOL! I still have GOT to return our chips, crap!! On the other hand, I do wish I would have did it just to PR, cause comparing my pacing to the pacing I had back in Jan, I know I would have met my goal. Oh well. Next time for sure!
I went swimming yesterday at lunch and nothing new to report. No new PR, but since I know this about PR's, they're not going to happen every time. They eventually stop happening. So, I'm hoping it hasn't stopped, but I just need to be patient that it will come again soon. I just have to train harder and focus more. Afterall, my last PR was just last week in the pool. So, I did 500yds - 14:26.
I'm just in a slump. I have track work today, and needed to do it at lunch because of thunderstorms tonight, but someone here scheduled a 12-1 meeting. Don't they know that I work out on my lunch hr? My goodness, the nerve of these people... anyway, I'm going to go to the track right after work and knock out 5x800's. Boy, I hate those but they'll be over with quick (I hope so). David needs to run today too, so I may be skipping a lunch hr after my meeting to leave early to get it over with. We're also supposed to meet some Church friends in the park to let the kids play - but Mother Nature may cancel that out...
Until....

It will get better. Just hang in there and do what you can. The blahs just happen (especially to us females-grr). The key is to try to stick it out and you will be on the happier side soon. :>) Until then try a big bowl of ice cream (fat free of course!).
(((HUGS)))
sorry about the slump, J-mom is right, if you hang in there you'll be on the other side soon enough it just sucks in the meantime. PMS gets me too, and also after drinking the next day or so i feel down. so, those in combination can be major slumpage.
keep smiling :o) XOXO.
Alright it is time to get moving!! What is your long run distance? Get out there and run it tonight. You have it in you just do it and push past these bluh feelings!! You are a marathon trainer now...... let's go girl!!!!! :)
You won't have to worry about not PRing the swim until you get your 500s below 10 minutes. You'll get there!
I feel ya on the slump, and I think I can blame the same feelings on the same list you provided. We're on the same page, chica. However, it will improve and good luck with this evening's track workout! You can rock it.
I totally understand what you mean. Especially during PMS time. I just want to crawl under my blankets and sleep all day. No motivation at all, and my times always suck because 1) I'm tired 2) my diet sucks MAJOR for that week which just leaves me even more sluggish. It's just all around crap. But you'll make it through :-)
You'll feel so much better after you get those repeats done!! Who knows, maybe it will be your best track day ever! I think that sometimes the worst part is having it set in your mind that you were going to do it at X time but then have it pushed back and looming over your head all day.
Oops sorry I forgot to answer your question. When you're a SAHM you find things to keep your sanity :-X :-X It's no wonder both Lisa and I are both wacky LOL
I hate it when Mother Nature tinkles on our run plans....especially so when we are sort of down any way.
Ok...I hate to ask....no I'm not going to...but it's killing me...what is SAHM...is that another of those female terms that are best left alone?
you're funny Randy. it's a Stay at home Mom. Acronyms, huh? sometimes, I'll read some and go "what"... I'm getting better though.
Next time they schedule a meeting from 12-1, tell them that they should hold the meeting at the track. Then, when they are all just staring at you, tell them they are chicken if they don't...it could work...really!
Did Marcy say I was wacky? LOL Me? ;>)
I hope you are feeling better! ((HUGS)))
Doesn't being a girl suck sometimes! :)
Hang in there and I hope the slump is almost done. :)
Hey - I just noticed I made your "list." Sweet! :)
Don't tell anyone... I am kinda in a slump too. Too much traveling- my head is spinning.
Let's get back on track!!!! We are running Chicago in 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am glad that made you laugh. DH and I were headed up to bed around midnight and I had that idea and I go hold on two seconds...he seriously was rolling his eyes at me. :>)
