3 Miles today - holy crap

Ain't gonna sugarcoat it...

Today I decided to do a 3 mile run instead of any track work. Reason being is because I have official PRT (Navy Fitness test) on friday morning, and I don't want to do any hard running, but I won't just "take it easy" either. So, I chose hills. I didn't do my run I normally do and instead, ran a very hilly course. It was very hot, and I had 11mph winds, and honestly the hills just whooped me. I'm really disappointed - I know I can do better.

Running does suck sometimes...

Back to swimming tomorrow - hopefully, I'll do better at it.

It sure does suck sometimes. But remember, every time you have a really sucky run the next one will be so much better!! Great job getting it done!

Sometimes, when a run just ain't happenin, you have to try something new. Sprints, fartleks, walk intervals, slow way down, whatever. But the important thing, is you succeeded, even if your heart wasn't in it.

I agree with Lisa!! For every one crap run, there is always a good one in there!! Man, you're still one step ahead of me. I'd probably be like "hills? Ohhh no gimme the flat course" LOL Don't worry chica, tomorrow is another day!

Adjusted expectations! It wasn't too long ago you would have been extremely thrilled at the pace you kept. You did well, and that course has some challenging hills. And that will make flatter courses that much faster!

The difference between an athlete and someone who just works out is that an athlete will have a bad day and still come back the next day with a smile on their face ready to get to it.
