Thank goodness it's hump day. Friday's almost here. :-)

In breaking news, I signed up for a 10k this weekend here in G'ville. I'm not at all trained for it, and am thus doing it "for fun". I've been working on my swimming and biking a little lately and plan to be doing more of it, and I haven't done ANY speed work in a LONG time. So, I know everyone will blow by me at their leisurely fast pace, but I don't really care. That said, I do have a goal time, but it's a bit on the aggressive side for me right now. We'll see. It is closed for further registration, but I got in. :-) (wink)

We also are signing up for the Cooper River Bridge 10K in April this week and have (in quick passing at Church) made plans to stay with friends at their vacation home down there. They graciously volunteered to watch Grace during the 10K so no rock, paper, scissors on which one of us runs it. The both of us have wanted to run it for several years. We really didn't want to go to Charleston without taking the little munchkin with us. We will have to train for it though, because the bridge is sloped with a 4% incline for about 1 mile. The entire bridge is 2.5 miles long. They're capping it at 45K entries this year, so needless to say - it's a HUGE 10K.

Yesterday I got in the pool for a boring pool swim to find out what my average 100/yd is for the upcoming (in 17 days) Parris Island sprint tri. And, yes - you real swimmers out there, it is S-L-O-W, (for now - that is).

800 yds - 20:27

We've decided to go to the gym after work to get our workouts in. It's looking VERY breezy (18-19 mph) out there and pretty cold. I am a wimp for the combination of the two. I'm gonna get on the dreadmill for 3/4 miles.

I've been trying to figure out why my swim times are so improved, and the only thing I can think is the upper body work I've been doing.

Have fun in your 10K this weekend. Wow! You are so right. That Charleston 10K is huge, and you and Dave will love visiting there. I know I did!

Already then, I'm doin a little prep work on the front end. You say you are not trained for it and it is thus just for fun. Will you remember this, Missy, when you are not thrilled with your time? :D I'm holding you to it. :D :D

LMAO, I was just reading Wes' post and for some reason thought I had clicked on yours (saw that you both had posted). I was SOOOOO confused, you were one-arm swimming and doing T tests and then Dee Dee came home??!! I finally figured it out at that point. hee hee

That is a supah sweet pic of the kiddo!
Good luck with the 10K this weekend, have fun with it. The one in April sounds challenging, but fun since you both can run it
together.Hey you made the 800 with out giving up and that is great.
I can't even do that long to find out my pace. Why is it that the
pool is so boring to me as well. They need to put in underwater
iPod that might help me :-P

I love that new picture of Grace on your page, too cute. And don't worry about those swim times, at least you're in the pool trying. I've yet to get brave enough for that!

Two more races added to your race calendar -- Awesome!

Question for you: last night JP and I were questioning how parents do it -- have careers, train for marathons, day-to-day home stuff (make dinner, do laundry, etc.) and raise children... HOW DO YOU DO IT!?!?! You and David are definitely super heroes to me! :)

Look at Miss Grace! I love it!!!

You are a racing fool these days! Definitely don't forget that this weekend is all about fun, but I have to agree with Robin that you ARE prepared! You have run 2 halfs in the last 2 months! You will do great and I can't wait to hear all about it!

This is already shaping up to be such a different year for you, and I think you will look back on it and be really happy. Just think of what we were doing 2-3 years ago: holding down sofa cushions.

Hooray for a brick today! (yikes!!)

I think I'm going to be coming down south to do the Cooper Bridge Run too! At least, if I can get my brother to call me back and promise me a place to stay... :)
