Ready or not?

Here I come Clem(p)son!!! I think more of "I'm not ready" for this tri. Oh well. I'm having right leg pain issues now, that just about put me out yesterday. I'm icing and popping pain pills. I'll elaborate later. I know it's my style of running that's caused it. I may have to take some running rest days next week altogether.

Mizuno pulled up Tuesday at Fleet Feet, here in G'ville and set up shop to do an in-depth gait analysis. Let me tell ya peeps, it's worth it if you get a chance to do this. Both David and I had our gait analysis and fortunately we both were around the "right" shoes for our feet, runnning pace/weight, style, etc. I have bought a lot of different Mizuno's over the past 2/3 yrs, so I do have the recommended shoe they recommend for me - the Wave Inspire, but since mine were older and I have NO clue how many miles were on them, I bought the newest ones. Here's the schedule if you have any interest on it. Mizuno Run with us. It's free and we got a Mizuno tech shirt out of the deal. Of course, the store got my money on some new kicks.

I've had a slow workout week this week, just kind of taking it easy. Today is definately a rest day, as I did 5 days in a row. I typically try to do 5 days, then rest if it falls within my schedule. After Clemson, I will focus on Irongirl tri, healing my leg, and adding more bike mileage.

We had a terrific evening out with friends the other night. There were 3 of us couples that met at the park, ate, and let the kids (Men included) roam the park. The highlight was watching the guys scope out for the "right" rocks to make them skip in the river. Wow!

We're gonna have a great evening out with friends and some grape juice, with some apps and an early evening for a 5:15 wake-up. OUCH! I'm not used to this kind of discipline homies. Tomorrow is gonna be fun. Lots of people we know will be racing. So, looking forward to it.

Good luck to local cool chick triathlete, Ashley - as she is doing HIM this weekend in Fla! I know she'll kick that course's tail!!
Good luck to P.O.M - doing a Half marathon this weekend! I know you'll do great! Can't wait to read your report.
Locals, Eric,Olivier, and Chris are gonna be at Clemson with the rest of us and I know they'll do terrific!! Of course Chris will be on his 5-10 mile cool-down run while I'm still out on the bike course, I'm sure. :-)
I know a LOT of you (maybe me too) are doing Nancy's virtual 10K - Good luck!!!!

I'm glad you mentioned the Mizuno clinic, since I neglected to. Man, what a valuable bit of info they gave.

You will do fine, and have fun. And just think: the faster you finish, the sooner we get to go to Wild Wings!

Can't wait to hear your report! And the Iron Girl sounds fun... do you think I could train and be ready to finish that in a month with no previous tri experience other than lots of biking and swimming last summer? (At the time I was getting ready for a tri but it never happened).
