little of this, little of that

I've had a few rough days lately. Yesterday morning at work, I received a phone call that my uncle died. Although, we've been expecting this, it's still very sad. He was very young, and had been on machines that keep him alive for the last year. He's at peace now, and I will miss him. My father then called me really upset (this is his brother), and the call plummeted downhill fast with him. I left work abruptly to go calm down.

Thank goodness yesterday was a rest day, because I didn't feel like doing much. After dinner with my family, I had a good girlfriend from Church call me and ask if I wanted to go get a cup of coffee. It was what I needed, and we just talked, not much about my uncle or my crazy family, just talked about stuff. We had a nice time, and I'm blessed to have her in my life.

I didn't sleep well at all last night, and had hoped to get up for my 5 mile run, but I hit snooze. Today, a swim was scheduled too. 25 min in the pool. I went to the pool at lunch, and 250yds into it, I was stumped. I felt claustrophobic, took in too much water, and just sloppy swimming. So much so, I almost gave up and left. But, I kept going, and completed my swim, but not without feeling like crap and just really tired.

1000 yds
27:46

After getting back to work, I was feeling a little dizzy, and just not right, and extremely tired. It continued on into the late afternoon. I mentioned not feeling well to David, and he said he wasn't either.

So, surprise. We both have the scratchy voice, and just exhausted feeling. I have no energy. We stayed home tonight from Church group to rest, and we did nothing. At all.

Hope everyone else is doing well out there.

I hope the rest of your week looks brighter. I'm praying for peace for you and your family and that you'll cling to that Easter hope that we all have! THAT is what makes it all brighter! I look forward to seeing you guys at Parris Island!

I told you to stop kissing me. Now you look what you did, you went on and passed it to David LOL KIDDING!!

I feel your pain chica (on both fronts) I still feel like poo and last week we also had a death in the fam. Similar situation too(just a waiting game until she passed) Even though we say it was "for the best" it still doesn't make things feel any less. (((HUGS))) I'm sorry for your loss.

You guys are getting the "ick" too! Rest up and feel better soon. Would you like a copy of my DNA so you can duplicate it in the lab? I'm already feeling better.

So sorry for your loss. How you and your family are okay.

I'm so sorry for your loss. While being prepared lessens the shock of the situation, it never feels *okay* to lose a loved one.

Feel better soon and I hope Miss Grace doesn't come down with the bug, too.

I am sorry for the loss of your uncle. I agree with what Lori said that while we can be prepared it never makes it easier.

I am glad you got an evening just to chill. Sometimes we really need to take the time out and do that. (((HUGS)))

Way to fight through on your swim. You really pushed hard to get to 1000, that is awesome!

Off topic..I saw a straightening iron yesterday for $99 and totally thought of you. :>) I didn't get it because I have been spending too much on bike ho-ha but hopefully soon.

Sorry about your uncle, Mendy - my thoughts are with you and your family.

The ick has been going around my house a bit too - luckily, I've been the one to avoid it!! I hope you guys feel better soon and that Grace doesnt get it too!

HUGS!

As much as everyone knew it would be for the better, it's never easy to "officially" lose someone. Things will return to normal-ish, though. And there are a lot of fond memories to hold on to.

Oh, and thanks for giving me Marcy's cooties.

Oh I'm so sorry, I lost an uncle very young too. It is hard, no matter if you know it is coming. I'm sorry about the phone call with your dad too. Sounds like there is more going on there. I have a crazy family too, and it can really be upsetting if I let it. I hope you are doing better and feeling better. Hope you guys were able to fight it off, stay hydrated and rested...

Take care.
