My productive lunch

Since I'm not working out much right now, that means I'm not working out at lunch, so I feel sort of lost sometimes. I've needed a hair trim for quite a while, and like always I go WAY beyond the recommended 8-10 wks of consistent hair trims. So, that's what I did at lunch yesterday.

However, I didn't just get a few hairs snipped at, I got a CUT. My hair was mid-back length. It now barely touches my back. When walking in, I didn't plan on it, but I told the lady - "I want something different". She suggested cutting my already layers shorter, and giving me bangs, and that resulted in this....

Naturally, I have very thick, very curly hair and I don't like it (like most girls with curly hair), but it's growing on me. I straighten it sometimes, and tend to like it better, while David likes it curly. Today, I straightened my hair, and got the same shocking stares from David I received yesterday when he got home, then again from my co-workers, whom all say they like it. "It's different" is all I got from David's mouth yesterday, along with those stares. Didn't someone tell him growing up it was rude to stare? Geesh... :-)

I should have had David take a pic of it today. I really look like a different person. Anyhoo..... It REALLY is short, for me anyway.

On Wednesday nights, we go out to eat and last night my brother joined us. I chose a healthy meal at the local Mexican restaurant we frequent, ate about 3.5 chips, so I felt good about my meal choice. However, still felt bad too - so when I got home, I went to the basement and rode my bike on the trainer, while watching some of "The Devil Wears Prada".

Bike - 30min - 8.1 miles - 16mph

I like it! And if you don't want those curls, I'll take 'em! I have very fine, flat hair, so I would wrestle you down and steal that hair if I had the chance.

I too never go for the 8-10 week trim. I seriously get my hair cut about 3 times a year. I'm terrible and have no discernible style whatsoever.

Today it looks a lot like the female doc on Scrubs, after she did her little rebellious makeover.

I'm with Jess on the curls. But maybe I should start using reverse psychology, since I also like it long. If I tell you I like it really short and really straight, will you grow it back out and leave it curly? ;-)

I like it too :-) I have thick curly hair as well, that's why I do a number 2 all over! LOL. I don't think that would work for you :-)

It does look nice, though. It's just that it is a sudden change. Very sudden.

Wes, what does having curly hair have to do with your bathroom habits? LOL

I LOVE it!!!! I would love to see a picture of it straightened, too. I would love to have hair that I could go either curly or straight with. Mine has this annoying little wave and it just has to be straightened. And then my flat iron was breaking my hair. Vicious cycle, I tell ya ;)

New cuts are in the air. Last Thursday I had ALL of mine cut off. It is only about an inch in the back... really. I love it and shuld have done it at the start of the summer.

I LOOOOVVVEEE IT!! I think it looks GREAT! You sound like me. I can't even remember the last time I got a trim, and I need one desperately. There is just so many other things I'd want to do with free time *sigh* In the meantime I'll continue to have crackhead hair LOL

Very pretty! And I know the grass is always greener, but coming from a girl with very fine, straight hair - embrace those thick curls!!

And good job on sticking with a healthy meal at a Mexican restaurant. That's a week's worth of self-control in my book!

WOW! Mendy, I think your hair looks AWESOME! Shorter is easier, too! Why am I commenting on hair? Suddenly I need to see a football, or shotgun or something manly! :-D

Very nice! Funny how everyone seems to want what they don't have (curly want straight, straight want curly). I guess that's how we are wired.

Good job with the bike. Hope you are feeling much better.

OMGosh! Has anyone told you that you look like Jennifer Anniston? BEAUTIFUL!

Although all men(ok majority) love long hair, I think whatever YOU like and looks best on you is what you should have PHFFFBBTT to David ;)

I keep telling my hubby that he can still pull my hair when its shorter :D (is that to kinky for this audience? )

LOL...anyways, I don't know how you had such great will power at a mexican restraunt..I LOVE MEXICAN!!!

Ooooh, I think your hair looks beautiful!!!

Of course it seems like we always want what we can't or don't have. I have always had stick-straight, thick hair which is a total PITA to style. I always wanted curly hair like some of my friends had. So I decided this year to get it cut short and have layers cut in throughout. So now it looks like I have style!! LOL!

Great job on the bike, too!
