in da' pool

I missed swimming, when I wasn't doing it. So, today, for lunch, I went to the pool for some laps. I am not fast, and it shows I haven't done it in a while (based on my pace), but am pleased I'm back at it. My goal right now is just to build some endurance with it, and I'm on my way to accomplish that. Today was 30 straight minutes of swimming with no break, other than the turn around, since I don't do flip-turns.

Swim - 1100yds - 30:05

I've been in a workout funk lately, and getting back in the pool made me feel like I'm starting to have that drive for consistent exercising like I had before, and truly I need that.

Bummer, I'm not doing the Chicago Marathon next week, and I've been really down about it. But, David keeps reminding me that it's for the better. I'm seriously jealous of the talk of Chicago right now, but in the same breathe am very happy that fellow bloggers (Tiff and Jess) are doing it and wish them the best of luck! I also have 3 friends I trained for MB Half with, that are doing it as well. David and I had talked briefly about continuing to travel to Chicago next weekend, as we already had plane tickets, and hotel reservations. But, today I was able to cancel our hotel reservations (even though I have an email saying there is no cancellation without penalty). I made sure my card wasn't charged and spoke with 2 different reps confirming that it won't be come next Saturday. I was able to get a credit with United Airlines too for the plane tickets, but not without a hefty penalty that will be applied when it comes time to book another flight (which has to be booked within the yr). So, all in all, I'm content. It would have been a nice trip, since I've never been to Chicago, but, I just think it's best I stay home and loaf and watch Jess, Tiff, and the others online running their race!

Now, If I could talk my co-worker into leaving early for a drink, I'd be happy! Don't think it's gonna happen though - she's too busy. Crazy! So, I'll get some work done and I need to look for a new Fall Purse on ebay. I'm soooo very tired, and need a coffee - BAD. :o

Phew...1100 yards straight! That totally rocks!! Looks like you already have endurance built up there. :>)

As hard as it will be to see them go for Chicago it is best. We will all cheer for you on the next adventure. Hmm..tickets all ready to go sound like they could be used for PFChang's half. Hmmm

If you are still bored you should look on Children's Place.com at the clearance. That is what I was just doing. LOL

Ah, too bad you're not still coming to Chicago! I would have loved to meet you and David! But I understand.

Maybe you'll have to think about a FL race for either of your futures, so we can all meet up then! There's A1A, Miami, Palm Beach, Disney, and each has both a half and a full! Think about it.

Lisa you didn't tell me TCP was having a clearance? What kind of friend are you?

I totally understand how you feel Mendy. I was bummed last weekend when I missed my HM. But David is right, it was for the best :-) Plus, one of these days all of us bloggers have to decided on one marathon to run together ;-) And yes David that means you too (even though something tells me he'd go kicking and screaming seeing as he hates running :P)

I hear you on the tired thing. Gosh I've been draggin butt all day. Blah.

I, too LOVE TCP. Their leggings are great for Grace for daycare!!!

Of course, Target has their leggings right now for 3.00, and I got her a few last night. Woo Hoo...

Sad about Chicago - have you made plans for what's next?

And for you mommies with little ones - Target had super cute Halloween socks & hats (for $1!!) yesterday. I was tempted, but didn't think our pug would appreciate them as much as I would. ;)

I'm happy to know I'm not the only person in a workout funk right now! :-)

That funk just sucks!! I hope we both get out of it soon!

We will miss you but know you will be cheering us on from afar.

Jess, perhaps we should wear our Mendy armbands during the race?

:)

Anyway i'm going to look into the MB half that is so sweet of you to ask! I'll get back to you.
