Fantastic Mother's Day weekend

We had a wonderful weekend and I just gotta tell ya... Saturday was the Clemson Triathlon and we got up at 5:15 to head to Clemson. For David to get up this early, is pure dedication. He is NOT a morning person, and neither is Grace. But she was a trooper. It was a great Tri to watch, and I'm sure even better to be in. David will be updating his blog shortly, I'm sure with the details. But, he placed 79th out of 347 (just Men). He was thrilled to have more support than just Grace and me there - Scott and Robin showed up and so did my co-worker/friend, Jason and his father-in-law, Bob (which happens to be David's co-worker). They were great!! Just being there made David feel wonderful and pressured. They even helped me with little munchkin, which she is somewhat of a challenge sometimes. :-)

What a beautiful Mother's Day I woke up to, yesterday. I hope all the Mothers had a great day!! It was gorgeous outside, here in the sweet south, with a slight wind - I found out on an 8.2 mile run, that I at points struggled with. But, overall I'm just happy to be able to go out and run, that my legs will allow me to do what I enjoy doing. On my run, I had time to just let random thoughts run in and out of my head - I guess that's what I love most about running. It really gives you time to think in this fast paced environment. Afterall, there's nothing else to do, well - except worrying about pace, foot strike, the cars ahead, etc. But why? I'd rather think.

After my run, I showered and we went to Church. I was more excited than I usually am about going to Church, because my Mom, Butch, and my Brother were coming, which they don't come often. But, it was because Grace was getting Dedicated. We were up on stage with the other couples & babies/children, and Grace was fantastic, just looking at all the pretty lights above her. She even went to Chris (our Pastor) for him to pray for our family. After Church, we all went to eat and here are some pics...

As you probably can tell, I don't have many pictures of myself on my blog. I absolutely, hate pics of myself, especially at the weight I am - but here's My mother, Grace and I.

After lunch, I hurried downtown to work at the stadium. I am leading a volunteer opportunity for our Naval Reserve Center to raise some money, so I along with a few others worked the concession stand at the Greenville Drive game. We had a great time, (It was our first of many games this season), but I was exhausted!!!! so, after the game - David and Grace met me downtown for supper. Grace was in a very funny mood - See....

This week, I expect another busy workout week, with my Reserve Drill weekend coming up. It's going to be a busy week for us. Have a wonderful day!!!

Hi Mendy, saw you over on Marcy's blog and decided to run over and say hi....save a bowl of grits for me too please....
I agree with Marcy, you should post pics more often and Grave is adorable. I just put a photo of our two grandkids on my blog tonight...they are one of the reasons that I run...to stay healthy to enjoy being around them.

In answer to your question about what 10x100 @ 2:30 is, that means that I start the next 100m swim repeat every 2 minutes, 30 seconds. This means that if I swim the 100 in 2 minutes, I get 30 seconds of rest. If I swim it in 1:50, I get 40 seconds of rest. It forces you to stay focused and swim hard, otherwise you get very little rest before the next repeat.

I hope that answers it for you.

Have a great day!

Ahhh yes, I TOTALLY understand what you men by having a "strong relationship with the scale" there have been many, many times that I've had to stick the thing in the trunk of my husband's car just so I'd stop weighing myself LOL The joys of "dieting" eh? Once you get down to you goal weight the madness will stop hehe
