Tour De Georgia

Wow! What a great day the family and I had. It was David's (my hubby) idea to go watch local Greenvillian, big G (George Hincapie) race in the Tour De Georgia, so after we all 3 awoke late this morning (around 8:15 - with a toddler like ours, that's late), we were off at about 1100. I hate driving, or riding in my case, through Atlanta - always have. Traffic makes me nervous. So, the Tour was at Stone Mountain park in GA. It was beautiful after we finally got there and in the park. We got out of the car in a hurry, knowing that the race would be coming into the park about 45 min later. We loaded the stroller up and we're off. We cross the finish line, and into the vendor area. After we walked around a little looking at the tents and taking in the atmosphere of cycling enthusiasts, we saw a line of people, so after David checked it out, we stood in line to meet this guy...

Yes - the one and only Floyd Landis. We like Floyd. He was very pleasant, friendly, signed a picture and let a man take this picture of us. David even chatted with him about another time when they corresponded with each other.

We were off to the Hincapie tent, bought some T-shirts and a hat, then to the finish line to watch the first lap of 2 inside the park. We both had cameras and in different areas. David's pics have to be developed, while here are a few I took.
Grace watching for George! - She calls him He---cap---eee...

They're going pretty fast...

George on the podium - Placed 3rd!!!

Getting interviewed...

Riding away...to the tour bus.

We headed to the car, and out of Atlanta. What a fun day.

Food for the day: I did GREAT today, not enough calories for the day, but considering we were on the go - that's okay. I had a bowl of specialK for b'fast, grilled chicken sandwiches for lunch and for supper (we stopped at fast food place there and on the way back), and a couple of skinny mocha's (1 in the AM, 1 in the eve). Not a bad food day - hoping to loose some weight tomorrow!

PT for friday was elliptical for 30 min, squats, lunges, dead lifts and curl-ups. I didn't do anything today as you can tell. Planning on running tomorrow afternoon. I'm looking forward to running a good bit this coming week.
