Monday - good start to the week!

We had a wonderful weekend watching the Tour De Georgia! On to the week's workouts... I'm planning on cramming a lot of workouts in this week, because on early Friday afternoon, we will be heading to Aiken, SC for the Langley Pond Triathlon, David is participating in. This is his 2nd and I'm excited to see how well he does.

Workout: Swim 500 yds, 80 c/u (2min), 30 p/u, 3x800's track

Yesterday I swam 500 yds for lunch. My time came down a few seconds, not much, but I'm still not anywhere near where I need to be for the Greenville Sprint Tri, unless I want to be dead last, and with a few minutes between me and the next person. So, keep on swimming! I'm going to be taking a technique class next month and look forward to learning more about what I'm not doing right in the pool. I'm just glad to be getting in it.

After work, I decided to do a practice PRT (Physical Readiness Test). I have my PRT coming up in May we do twice a year in the Navy Reserves. I want to do well on it and that's my focus at this time. I did my curl-ups, push-ups, then drove to the track. I did a half-mile warmup, 3x800's then a cool-down. Wind was around 10-15mph and you could definitely tell on one side of the track. My time wasn't exactly where it was the last time I did an 800, but, then again, I haven't done track work since beginning of Feb.

Overall - good workout day!

I enjoyed your post and hope David has a great tri this weekend. I have recently started triathlon training after being an avid marathon for a number of years and am working towards an Ironman in 2008.

If you get a chance, please visit my running web site, Faithful Soles. I have a categorized and searchable Running Blog Database on there and would appreciate it if you would link your blog to it. Thanks and again, good luck this weekend.
